Dale.... I hear you bud....people getting in over there head with them scamey... Sub Prime lending loans.....arrg.. Don't people realize that their mortgages gonna keep going up??? Sure am glad I didn't fall for it about 4 years ago when I bought my new house.. I got locked in 30 years at 5.8% On another note. I got in the new Kentucky KM-1000's.... Oh hell Eastman better just pack up their shit because SAGA just ate their lunch with this mandolin model... One of the best Gibson copied mandolins I have seen and played.... If they introduce a varnish model. Watch out.... Yes my Gibson Master model does sound better, but the KM-1000 can hold its own among stuff like gibsons F-5g's, Webers, and such.. |

I thought you sold that MM & bought a new Honda Civic with the proceeds?.......I'm really concerned about you Mav & have contacted that TV series "Intervention" . I told them of your flaming decent into rampant banjoism. Now I see you whoring Chinese Kentucky mandos right out here in the broad daylight..........I hope it's not to late to get you some help. |

Hey Dale,,, Yes I sold one Master Model and got another.... You know me... I may bitch about Gibson but deep down I really like their mandolins...... Eastman mandolins suck... Remember that time I ordered one and within 15 minutes I called to get a RMA for a return... This KM-1000 Master Model #16 freaking honks... It even beats the orginal Kentucky mandolins mande in Japan under master luthier Sumi during the 80's.....They are hard as hens teeth to get.. Only a few are made each month in the small shop.... It is probably one of the best copy of a Gibson F-5 out there today.....but don't fret.. I am not whoring these mandolins... I just bought one for myself to try out and I be doggone if I didn't fall in love with it... Mine looks just like this one below. This is a true Gibson copy mandolin ! --Last edited by mav on 2007-04-07 00:19:38 -- |

KVK... They are around $1300 bucks. and it has a red spruce top with a very light coat of laquer. The only thing I had to do to it when I got it was to re-slot the bridge. The A and E pairs were spaced to close together... Other than that it was fine out of the box. --Last edited by mav on 2007-04-07 22:40:34 -- |

Darn, the local music store has one of them KM-1000 for $1295. I could actually afford that. I really shouldn't though. I told my wife I wouldn't be spending any money on anything until I find out if I'm up for a bonus this year. I should find out in a few weeks. If I am, I'll check it out. Actually, I really should get out and try some mandos to start figuring out what I'm looking for. My parents live about ten miles from Statten Island yet I never see to get to MandoBros when I'm down visiting. | |||
