I really like the frets and fretboard and tone of my Rigel A but after going to a jam for the first time in eight months last night, I decided I need a louder mando.

I played a guy's Collings MT (the ~$2K one) and loved it.  I loved the rounded V neck (my Rigel has a really chunky neck).  It had larger frets just like my Rigel, slightly less radius but perfectly playable for me.  I loved the tone and the thing had punch.  I played one tune on it and didn't want to give it back.

So, now I need to come up with $2K.  I was on a bonus program for 2008 and they usually announce at the end of March but who knows this year if I'll get a $.01.   Tax returnnetted me $100.
