As I am on several acoustic instrument forums, I always seem to be surrounded by Bluegrass musicians. I play Old-Time/Good-Time, which is a blend of jug band, old-time, folk, acoustic blues, Tin Pan Alley, and classic sountry music.

What style of music does everyone else here play?

Mostly BG and country-folk, some of the traditionals popularized by GD and the like.  I just don't have time to pursue genre that are less than easily accessible.

Hey Gary, my sister gave me the tab for Gun's and Rose's, Sweet Child Of Mine today. I like all kinds of music as long as it is accoustic. My friend that ties the straps wants to play some celtic fiddle. If you got any suggestions, tell me.

Drowsey Mary is my favorite celtic fiddle tune.  I like Jolly Beggarman which is really just Red-Haired Boy.

All with Jon Prown, a great local Milwaukee musician. He's playing guitar on Moby Duck, the rest all uke, all the time. I'm the singer in the last one.  Jon's the comedic one in the intros.

But, this is the syle range.  Everything from ragtime to some rock to some other eclectic stuff.  Hope you enjoy.  Maybe even cause you to consider a uke.

I play a Bushman Jenny concert uke. Some of my music can be heard at http://ezfolk.com/audio/bands/919/ .

If you look for songs from the Good Old Days CD, most are played on the uke.  ;)

Pretty much bluegrass. Our band has been writing a lot of original stuff that seems to be drifting out of the bluegrass style, but bluegrass is what I like.

I primarily play old-time but started to venture into bluegrass.

It is interesting to see the mixture. I have found many banjo and mandolin boards tend toward strict bluegrass and strict old-time. You guys seem to be a bit more eclectic. I like that.

I'm going through a stage of learning fiddle tunes.  I don't think I can limit myself to a specific genre of music I play the mandolin on (I'm really not that good so old time might sound punk  .  I've messed around a little with classical, Italian, bluegrass, rock, Irish.

It might be th case where I don't have the attention span to stick with one genre.

I like to play Irish, Old Time, Italian, a little Classic and South Eastern European Folk Music (Croatian, Serbian, Macedonian, Hungarian). I like Bluegrass but don't play it - yet.

I play mainly bluegrass and oldtime but I'm trying to learn to play some Irish music. Years ago, the last time I left Ireland, I was able to play a few tunes quite well but now they're sort of gone, and after 6 months of playing back-up on the bouzouki, I haven't learned much (more than playing backing on the bouzouki), so now when we were up in Galway I bought O'Neill's tunebook with 1001 Irish dance tunes so now I have some stuff to work with. I've always thought that Irish music is excellent to learn from sheet music, to get the melody, and then learn to play it properly when you play with other people. We'll stay in Ireland for another year at least so I hope to learn some tunes. And to back myself when singing, in some kind of Andy Irvine kind of way...hmm.
But, since I got my new mandolin I really want to learn some Monroe instrumentals, and bluesy stuff!! Hmm, so much music, so little time...

Actually I prefer Irish Folk but I also have fun with NuGrass, Classical music and Blues.
