As I mentioned in another thread I've finally started playing again. Picked up the Rich Delgrosso Blues Mando book and CD. Great resource if you like the blues. Also, thinking of doing some lessons on bluegrasscollege.com. Anyone else tried this?

I'm still in winter mode, pick up my mando for 20 minutes once or twice a week.

You know what's really frustrating, I obviously take seven to eight months off of skiing every year.  The next season, within a day or two, I'm skiing 95% as well as at the end of the previous season.  When I don't play mando regularly even if for a couple weeks, I back slide like crazy.  Think that's what makes it so easy to get stuck at plateaus.  It's discouraging to practice for an hour a day for three weeks to just get back where you were a few months ago.

I think to try to remedy this, I might try learning some different things on the mando instead of relearn songs I was playing well six months ago.  That should prevent boredom from setting in.  Then, when I go back to the old songs after playing a while, I should get them back more quickly.
