They've gotten a bit of air play on WUMB, the Boston folk station. Certainly a very unique combo possibly leaning just a bit toward the obscure I guess. It is certainly unusual to hear bowed cello in that genre of music. I like it in moderation but I doubt it will have universal appeal (but who cares; the masses have bad taste anyway). I saw Aoife O' Donovan with the Wayfaring Strangers (McGann, Glasser, Trishka, et.al.) really ethereal, airy voice. She was one of three female vocalists each of which had a unique styles. She's on the second Strangers album "This Train". If you like Crooked Still, you might check out that album. | |||

Saw 'em live once at an outdoor show. The cello player is a strange little fellow, did a 'mini-set' of his own before the show doing all manner of weird and probably unholy things with his cello. | |||
