I didn't like this one as much. I don't have anything specific, it just didn't click for me. I like the sparse arrangement. |

This is the new song, not the old one. I deleted my message, mainly because it's chickenshit. I still stand by what I said, but it seems to me this is just a controversy board, no musicians or folks that have a clue about it seem to haunt the board. I post some music, and although I play the uke, I feel I've been around long enough that someone would give a shit. Not saying that I'm an insightful, thoughtful musician, but think about it, if you put your heart and soul into some music, shared it with people you felt you've known for a long time, and were greeted with silence, how would you feel? I liked Gene's response, he didn't like it. I'm actually kinda pumped and pleased that he responded. It was frustrating enough on the first song to be greeted with silence, thus the calling you guys "pussys", to sort of get you back in a supportive, music frame of mind in a joking sort of way. But I see that this board is more interested in Paris Hilton's latest thing, or other tabloid controversy than music. It's a shame. And shame on you guys here that have looked at the posts of me and others that have posted music, and not responded, positive or negative, to show your support of one of your own. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but of all the musicians I know, and I do know a fair share, the biggest bummer that we know is silence. I think we all do this for the boos or the applause, not silence. At this stage, it sure ain't the money. So, to sum it up: Thanks Gene for your response, you ain't no pussy. That's official. The rest of you......... Oops, I'm editing this post to say that I was wrong. I'm apparently the only guy that has posted music here. Not "me and a few others". So why don't a few of you "mandolin" players get off your asses and do something. The only working and recording player I know of here is John Rosett. But that shouldn't stop a few of you from doing a scratch recording just for kicks. I may even come back to respond. And I know..who cares. --Last edited by Neal on 2007-06-10 13:18:49 --

Well I missed the post about the second song; sorry about that. Me, I don't post anything I've played because I'm in a specific learning mode right now. See my post in Playing. Right now, I'm playing 15 minutes 3-4 times a day concentrating solely on practicing technique. No new repertoire, recording, ear training, theory, or anything. I'm either playing drills from one of Hokkanan's books or fiddle tunes I already know slowly and carefully. I'm going to give it a few months and see if I actually can improve my minuscule chops.
