You know what the problem with the political system is?  A lot has to do with our two-party system.  No politicritter can get nominated in either party without kissing the a$$ or the core pundits of the party.  So the Reps have totally sold out to big business and it's anything to make a buck.  The Dems have sold out to the wishy washy libs that want to give everyone a break.  So what do you get?  Big business making tons of bucks off illegal immigrants cause the wishywashies are to wimpy to kick them out.

The thing is, most of America is not aligned with the core pundits of either party.    Most American's are more liberal than the cons and more conservative than the lefties.

I'm reluctantly with you on this one. Out in Montana, there's no illegal imigrant problam, mostly because the pay is lower there than in Mexico! When we moved to NC, it was a whole different story. Social services are completely overwhelmed here, and I've had to aim my painting business at the snooty rich who are afraid of the Mexicans in order to get any work at all.
I think that the problem is not so much the imigrants themselves (After all, their just poor people trying to make a living-NAFTA pretty much killed the Mexican economy.), but rather the greedy business owners and contractors that are completely happy to hire illegals, pay them half of what they would have to pay citizens, and couldn't care less how much quality and safety they have to compromise. This is what I see in the building trades here. If the companies WANTED the workers to take time to do it right, they would.
Me? I'm moving back to Montana.
