Only 500 more days of president GWB.

I have a theory that in our current media driven campaigns that the candidate that comes across as the most "likeable" will win.  Within a broad range, I don't think policy positions matter.  I don't think that's how it should be but I'm that cynical about the process.

For the sake of discussion, accept my premise and pick a winner on style not substance.

John Edwards seems high on the list there.

I'm not liking the alternatives all that much right now.  The way I see, the Dems want to run one part of our lives and the Reps want to run another.  It's just a trade-off.

It's hard to believe the whole campaign thing is like two years long and there are so many people still in the race.  I'm not tracking it too highly right now.

I remember hearing someone say during the summer of 1975 that they would not vote for Scoop Jackson because he had already declared his candidacy  and it was 18 months before the election.

Times have changed.

I too am not too happy with the current crop of contenders on either side of the isle.

Most likely I'll hold my nose again, as I vote for the Rep candidate of party choice. At one time, I use to believe in voting for the man not the party. But I've gotten cynical in my old age and want to protect my wallet from any further bleeding. So I vote a straight rep ticket. That being said, anymore there really isn't much difference. Both spend like drunken sailors, the only difference is where.
