Had the unfortunate experience of attending a funeral this week.  The minister, using euphamisms and implications, essentially said "Your loved one is in hell because he killed himself, but he'd want you to get right with Jesus".

Nothing was said in the service that would have been of comfort to his children.  

Even if I concede his theological point I still didn't understand the need to take that approach in the service.
